Ice Ice Baby

The winter here in Utah has not been the best this year.  A very cold December, which usually happens in January, and an inversion which lasted way to long, and not nearly enough snow.  Now it is February 24th and the temp today was 61 degrees.  The poor trees and flowers will start coming out and then get bitten badly when we get a spring snow storm in.  That is Utah for you.

I came across this picture from January 2013 that I did for a photo challenge.  It was a very cold and snow season and the icicles where very big and long hanging off the homes.  These icicles where out my kitchen window.  I didn't want to go outside to take the picture so I took the picture through the window and played with the black and white for mood and effect.

Isn't it amazing that each icicle is so individual.  Short, long, many ridges, not so many ridges, skinny, fat.
So beautiful!
